Adulthood (Age 23 and Up)
Supporting Independence, Inclusion, and Quality of Life
Valley Mountain Regional Center (VMRC) is dedicated to helping adults with developmental disabilities lead fulfilling, self-directed lives. Our adulthood services promote independence, inclusion, employment, and personal choice — supporting individuals to thrive at home, at work, and in their communities.
Every adult eligible for regional center services has a planning team that includes the person utilizing the services, their VMRC Service Coordinator, and anyone else the individual chooses to include. The team works together to create an Individual Program Plan (IPP) that identifies the services and support needed to help the person live more independently, make meaningful choices about where and how they spend their days, and build toward their hopes and dreams for the future.

Transition to Adulthood
For individuals moving from school-based services to adult life, VMRC provides transition planning to support a smooth shift to adult programs, employment, or post-secondary education. Service Coordinators collaborate with families, schools, and community partners to create a plan for success.
Support for Adults in the Family Home
For adults who live with their families, VMRC offers support that promote independence, choice, and connection within the home environment:
