Respite Tools
In accordance with Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) Section 4690.2(c), all regional centers are required to use a standardized Respite Assessment Tool to help determine a family’s need for respite services in a consistent and equitable manner.
The tool is intended to support person-centered planning by helping regional center staff evaluate the individual needs and circumstances of each person and their family. It is used as part of the Individual Program Plan (IPP) or Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) process.
