Disability Rights California (DRC)
Disability Rights California is a nonprofit organization committed to protecting and advancing the rights of people with disabilities. DRC provides legal advocacy, policy guidance, and educational resources to ensure access to services, equal opportunities, and community inclusion.
Office of Clients’ Rights Advocacy (OCRA)
The Office of Clients’ Rights Advocacy (OCRA) is a division of Disability Rights California. OCRA offers free legal information, advice, and representation to regional center clients across all 21 regional centers in California. Funded through a contract with the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS), OCRA assigns a dedicated Clients’ Rights Advocate (CRA) to each regional center.
Family Resource Network (FRN)
Family Resource Network (FRN) is a non-profit, parent-led organization serving the same five counties as VMRC. FRN supports families and individuals with disabilities through workshops, 1:1 guidance, support groups, resource navigation, and events such as the Mother’s Retreat and Holiday Open House. Programs are available for all ages, from Early Start through adulthood.
California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD)
California State Council on Developmental Disabilities (SCDD) is a state agency dedicated to promoting the rights and quality of life for people with developmental disabilities. SCDD provides advocacy, policy guidance, training, and grants to support individuals and families across California. The Council works to ensure access to services and community inclusion.
Valley Mountain Regional Center Self-Advocacy Council 6 (SAC6)
Self Advocacy Council 6 (SAC6) was created in 1992 by self-advocates to support individuals with developmental disabilities in Amador, Calaveras, San Joaquin, Stanislaus, and Tuolumne counties. SAC6 provides a platform for self-advocates to share their voices and participate in decision-making. The council empowers members to speak up for their rights, participate in decision-making, and provide input on regional center policies and programs.
